WALLACE MURDER
Southern Ohio Crime Stoppers, along with additional grant reward monies, is issuing a reward of up to $7,000 for the arrest and indictment of the person or persons responsible for the murder of a man more than 21 years ago.
The crime occurred on the snowy night of December 6, 1984. Ross County Sheriff’s deputies were dispatched to the road side rest that sat just outside of Londonderry on US 50. When deputies arrived, they found the body of Kenny Wallace Jr. lying on the ground by the door of the men’s rest room. Mr. Wallace’s vehicle was parked beside the rest room, still running. Deputies determined that Mr. Wallace had been killed by two shots fired from a shotgun. His wallet was missing and there were footsteps found in the snow leading away from the crime scene. Mr. Wallace was 27 years old and a resident of Ray, Ohio, and on his way home from work when the incident took place.
Ross County authorities believe someone from the area may have committed this crime and may still be in the area. No arrests have been made and the public’s assistance in solving this brutal murder is being requested.
